Steffie Shields is a regular contributor to Lincolnshire Life and writes the editorial for the Lincolnshire Tourism Gardens and Nurseries brochure. Steffie contributes regular articles to county gardens trusts publications and has had her paper "Mr Brown Engineer" published in the Garden History Journal 2006.

Following the 1987 hurricane Steffie began to research the work of landscape gardener Lancelot "Capability" Brown. She has visited over 180 attributed sites with 5,000 plus photographs on file and she has recently completed a manuscript "Capability Brown and the Gift of Landscape".
